PRIVACY POLICY

Sydney Beats Pty Ltd (ABN 39 696 237 920) runs live music events in Sydney and this website, sydneybeats.com.au. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and share personal information, in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles and, for marketing messages, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). “We”, “us” and “Sydney Beats” refer to Sydney Beats Pty Ltd.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

• Sign-up form: your name, email address, mobile number (optional), your marketing consent, and the date and time you signed up.

• Emails you send us: your contact details and anything you include, for example general, sponsorship or VIP table enquiries.

• WhatsApp community: if you join our announcement community, your phone number and WhatsApp profile name are visible to our community admins. They are not shown to other members.

• Website use: information such as pages visited, device and browser type, approximate location and how you arrived at our site, collected through cookies and similar tools (see section 7).

• Events: photos and video taken at our events, which may include attendees.

We don’t ask for sensitive information, such as health details, religious or political views, and ask that you don’t send it to us.

2. HOW WE COLLECT IT

Directly from you when you complete our sign-up form, email us or join our WhatsApp community, and automatically when you use our website. When you buy tickets, the ticketing platform collects your purchase details under its own privacy policy. We may receive limited booking details, such as your name and email, from the ticketing platform or an event co-promoter so we can manage the event.

3. WHY WE USE IT

• To send presale alerts, event announcements and offers you have asked for

• To reply to your enquiries, including sponsorship and VIP table requests

• To run our events safely, including entry management

• To understand how our website is used and improve it

• To measure and improve our advertising on platforms such as Instagram and Facebook

• To meet our legal obligations

4. MARKETING MESSAGES AND UNSUBSCRIBING

We only send marketing emails or SMS messages with your consent. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, or you can email hello@sydneybeats.com.au with “Unsubscribe” in the subject line. We will action your request within 5 working days. Leaving our WhatsApp community stops our WhatsApp announcements.

5. WHO WE SHARE IT WITH

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our website and events, who handle it under their own privacy terms:

• Framer, which hosts our website and forms

• Google, for storing sign-ups (Google Sheets) and website statistics (Google Analytics)

• Meta, for our WhatsApp community and the Meta Pixel used to measure our advertising

• Our email hosting provider, for our hello@ mailbox

• Ticketing platforms and event co-promoters, for events you attend or ask about

• Professional advisers, or government authorities where the law requires it

6. STORAGE OUTSIDE AUSTRALIA

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to use reputable providers with appropriate security and privacy practices.

7. COOKIES AND ANALYTICS

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, to count visits, see which pages and links are used, and measure how our ads perform. This information does not usually identify you by name. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook and Instagram settings.

8. PHOTOS AND VIDEO AT OUR EVENTS

Our events are photographed and filmed, and images may appear on our website, social media and promotional material. If you would prefer an image of you not be used, email us a copy or link to the image and we will remove it from channels we control where practical.

9. KEEPING YOUR INFORMATION SECURE

We store information with reputable providers, in password-protected accounts that only team members who need access can use. We keep sign-up details while you remain subscribed, and delete or de-identify information we no longer need. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will act to contain it and notify affected people where the law requires.

10. ACCESSING OR CORRECTING YOUR INFORMATION

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@sydneybeats.com.au. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to respond within 30 days.

11. UNDER 18S

Our sign-up form is intended for people aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian before giving us your details. Some of our events are 18+ only.

12. AUTOMATED DECISIONS

We do not use automated systems to make decisions that significantly affect you.

13. QUESTIONS AND COMPLAINTS

If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal information, email hello@sydneybeats.com.au and we will aim to respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.

14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
